Overview
The Shri H L Somany Architecture Excellence Scholarship, in partnership with Ethos Foundation | Arcause, supports architecture students who demonstrate commitment and potential but face financial challenges in continuing their education.
The scholarship is rooted in the belief that financial circumstances should not become a barrier to completing an architectural education. Along with financial support, the initiative seeks to create greater access to encouragement, professional exposure and a wider community of architects and peers.
Last year, the scholarship supported 8 architecture students from Sir J.J. College of Architecture, Mumbai and APJ Abdul Kalam School of Environmental Design (SEED), Kochi.
For the 2026–27 cycle, the initiative is expanding its reach across institutions and regions, towards supporting 16 students. The larger aim is to build a continuing network around scholarship recipients, connecting students with mentors, peers and opportunities as they move from architectural education into professional practice.
Pay it forward
Project Bridge also embodies the “Pay-it-forward” philosophy, creating a cycle of community & shared responsibility. As recipients become established and secure, they further support students to fulfill their passion without barriers and spread positivity with the hope of creating a ripple effect of kindness throughout the community.

Who can apply ?
- Individual application only.
- Students from any year of undergraduate Architecture and Interior Design programs.
- Past winners (must be a Student)
How to apply ?
- The applicant should register on the website.
- Fill the application form.
- Paste the link of your work (if any) in required sections.
- A review panel will select the students who would be then awarded this scholarship.
- The scholarship winners will be announced on our website.

Scholarship awarded
The monetary value of the scholarship will be contributed towards the fees due for a semester at the college of study amounting to a standard of around Rs.25,000/-. There may be variations case-to-case based on a deeper assessment of each candidate.
