Arcause SAaTh Awards, Grants and Mentorships
India, with 18% of the world’s population but only 4% of its freshwater, faces a dire challenge: balancing development with sustainable resource management. The construction industry, while essential to economic growth, consumes 12% of global freshwater and generates up to 30% of global landfill waste. The over-extraction of natural resources for construction has placed the planet in an ecological overshoot, requiring “1.5 Earths” to sustain current lifestyles. This situation demands a transformative approach to building practices, one that reduces resource consumption while supporting sustainable development.
Ethos Foundation, in collaboration with Mphasis F1 Foundation, aims to address this challenge through Project SAaTh (Sustainability in Action and Thought), a program built around fostering architects’ social responsibility integrated with an approach towards sustainability. By encouraging innovative solutions and promoting sustainable construction practices, SAaTh seeks to create opportunities to reverse the ecological debt incurred by unsustainable development. The initiative focuses on aligning the construction sector with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas like water conservation and responsible resource use.
To catalyze this shift, Ethos Foundation and Mphasis F1 Foundation present the Arcause SAaTh Awards and Grants, inviting architects, educators, students, and professionals to take action. The awards encourage participants and inspire others from the community to focus on sustainability challenges, particularly around water and waste reduction, in the built environment. These grants and awards will transform visionary ideas into impactful, scalable solutions, supporting a future where development coexists harmoniously with environmental stewardship.
The time to act is now—every building, every decision, and every idea can make a difference. Join us, with the following initiatives that are being offered.

Project Pitch
Nurturing Ideas into Impact
The journey toward sustainability may appear overwhelming, yet every small step contributes to the transformation we seek. Project Pitch embraces the belief that every significant change begins with a single idea, but its true worth emerges when that idea is cultivated into a plan that yields tangible, real-world results.
The intent through this initiative is to provide designers, architects, students, and young professionals with the support, resources, and mentorship needed to transform your ideas into reality. Whether you’re an aspiring designer, a college, or a budding architectural practice, our platform offers grants and access to a network of changemakers who can help bring your vision to life.
