Overview

The Ethos Foundation is more than a platform — it’s a collective initiative that recognises the power of Architects, Designers, Engineers, and others in the construction field (the ACED community) to shape not just buildings, but the social fabric around them. Arcause (Our Cause) stands for both the causes – the community champions and the ecosystem coming together in support of greater good. It’s a space for reflection, responsibility, and real action.

Each year, we come together to support young changemakers through the Arcause Bridge Scholarship — a unique effort that connects potential with opportunity. It’s not just a scholarship; it’s a celebration of ambition, resilience, and purpose. It exists to bridge the gap between talent and access, helping students overcome barriers and continue their journey with confidence and clarity.

Over time, we’ve evolved this scholarship to respond to the real-life challenges students face. In 2020, we stood by those financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, we gave special attention to students with disabilities, reaffirming our belief in accessible education. In 2024, we aligned with our ShramA initiative, honouring students whose families are part of the informal construction workforce — the ones who build the world we live in.

Now, in 2025, we carry that spirit forward with renewed purpose and deeper commitment to equity and inclusion by supporting students who face structural or personal challenges yet demonstrate strong potential. This includes first-generation learners, students who face barriers due to disabilities, gender or even socio-cultural differences, and those from remote or underserved regions who struggle to focus on their education due to financial pressures.

Additional preference may be given to students who have been affected by climate-related disruptions such as floods, droughts, etc. as well as those who have recently experienced personal loss,  that have impacted their families’ livelihoods, and are continuing their education through adversity. While special consideration will be given to students from the highlighted groups, the scholarship remains open to all eligible applicants.

We also encourage applications from students who have demonstrated a commitment to community engagement or socially responsible work — whether through design projects, volunteering, teaching, part-time employment, or any form of meaningful contribution. These efforts can be shared through your portfolio or via relevant links.

Pay it forward

Project Bridge also embodies the “Pay-it-forward” philosophy, creating a cycle of community & shared responsibility. As recipients become established and secure, they further support students to fulfill their passion without barriers and spread positivity with the hope of creating a ripple effect of kindness throughout the community.

What the recipients say

“I am truly grateful to Ethos for awarding me a scholarship. That amount played a significant role in helping me pay part of my college fees, which in turn reduced the financial burden on my parents. Coming from a background where every bit of support matters, this scholarship not only provided financial relief but also motivated me to keep working hard in my architectural journey.”

Khushi Tyagi

“I was awarded the Bridge Scholarship of last year, which I primarily utilized to support my academic pursuits. A significant portion of the amount was spent on a study trip to Odisha, which enriched my understanding of regional architecture and planning. The remaining funds were used for materials and supplies essential for my architectural coursework. As I rely heavily on iterative model-making as a design-thinking tool, this support was instrumental in facilitating my creative process”
